CAPA

Well today we made our cakes for CAPA. We made four cakes one of them being a giant cupcake, another was a hydrangea puff ball, the third cake was a flower pot that had cookies for flowers. The forth cake looked like a slice of cake on a plate that was made out of cookies it was origanly soposed to have a plate made out of White Chocolate. I think it would of looked alot cooler if we had done it that way plus it kinda made me a lil upset cause I was suposed to be in charge of making the plate because I can put a bunch of detail into something. I didn't really do to much for these cakes due to the fact we have the new Linworth Intern helping on Saturdays. Other than these cakes there were not many other orders for Saturday.

My Gradfather

Today I got a phone call while I was at my walkabout telling me that my Grandfather had colapsed and I was going to to need to get a ride to the Hospital when he got there. I continued working until I got a second phone from my Dad say that they wernt needing to take him to the hospital because he had passed away.

First Day Of Training

Today was the first day of Kearea's intership. She is a Freshman from Linworth. I was in charge of showing her the ropes and trying to get her used to the bakery for her week. She seems to be a really inteligent young women and could really do well.

Preparing for St. Pattys Day

This week we are preparing for St. Patricks day. It's not really a busy Holliday but we do make a cool version of red velvet that is green. Making alot of cookies and they get really anoying. Next week will have even more cookies to do. The weather really sucks lately and has not been hlping bussiness at all.

That sucks

Well we thought and were told that we had the deal for the cookies but it doesn’t look like we are going to be getting it. The man who called said that is was a sure deal. He then began to say that he could get a better deal if he made it there himself. We said we could give him a cheaper price and he said that he would call us back. We have not gotten a call back so we have decided that it is not going to happen. If it does happen then the better for us I hope it does. This has prepared us for whatever is coming.

It's just an Arrow

Well yesterday we had an order for a peculer shape cake. Well it was an of adult nature. The order was for a birthday and they wanted it to look like biracial male genitalal. I Haave to admit that working on cakes like these are interesting. N

6000 Cookies

Well this week was really slow I mean really slow. We did get a really good offer we might be making 6000 cookies a week for someone to be selling. This would be equal to about 40 man hours to make them and prepare them. We are all really hopeful and excited that this might happen. Other than that this week hasn’t had much to talk about Jenny and I moved a new desk over to the bakery from her house for the office and mainly me with some help cleaned out the office and organized it. Basically I have been doing spring cleaning since we have the free time. That’s all for this week.

Valentine's Week

Well this week has been really freakin long. Tuesday for example I was at the bakery until 7:30pm when we normaly close at 3:00. What really sucked is that the weather like last yearjust happened to get bad around Valentines Day. At least it wasn't as bad as last year. Although we did not have as much business as We hoped or wanted it was a very eventful and long week. There were a few snow days this week so i was able to get in here rite away.

Mid-Year Senior Reflection

1. As of so far I have only gotten some of my walkabout proposal done. I have gotten the first half of it completed.2. One of the biggest difficulties has been all my other work that I have had to complete. As well as the fact that I could not use a computer at home for some time. There were also a lot of distractions at my house that I had to deal with.3. I would have to say I am most excited about the fact that I will be able to do a more in depth experience into what I am interested in doing in the future. I get to be much more independent. More Like the real world.4. I will be working with wedding cakes which can be very risky. A wedding is one of the most important days of someone life.
5. I think that I deserve about an AE for a grade. I was not there all the time and did not finish my walkabout proposal or research paper.6. I think that I deserve an ME for a grade for site and weekly seminar. Even though I did not show up every day for seminar I showed up many extra days at site and worked very dilentgently while there.

Yippee

In aprox. two weeks I will begin my 3rd quarter walkabout.
